Hands – on Ecology – Biodiversity Pillar

As part of an ecology teaching unit, S3 students revitalised the garden beside the sports hall, applying scientific knowledge to improve biodiversity and promote sustainable practices. Students cultivated plants and observed ecological processes, resulting in a harvest of tomatoes and beans.

The initiative aligns with the Biodiversità pillar of the Green School framework and supports SDG 15 – Life on Land, demonstrating how hands‑on learning can foster respect for ecosystems and sustainable interaction with the natural environment.

The result are these tomatoes and beans; the real “fruit” of their hard work and collaboration! 🍅

It’s great to see project-based learning and sustainability come together in such a hands-on and rewarding way. Well done to the class and their dedicated teacher, Prof. Bortels.
