We are incredibly proud to celebrate Matěj Hradec, who has been awarded 🥈 2nd Prize in the Junior Section of the European School Science Symposium (ESSS): a prestigious annual competition where students from European Schools present original scientific research projects.
Matěj’s project, “Solvent-Based Recycling of Multilayer Plastic Packaging Using Xylene as a Dissolution Medium,” explores an innovative chemistry-driven approach to recycling complex plastic packaging. By selectively dissolving polyolefin layers such as PE and PP, the method aims to recover near-pure plastics while keeping costs low and reducing waste — an exciting contribution to tackling one of today’s major environmental challenges.♻️
